Emily Bett Rickards born July 24, 1991 is a Canadian actor, best known for playing Felicity Smoak on The CW television series Arrow. Rickards was raised within British Columbia. She started her career in acting in the early years of her life by studying musical theatre, dance and other forms of entertainment. She graduated from high school earlier than expected and studied at the Vancouver Film School where she received her Acting Essentials Certificate. After completing the program, she attended an audition open to the public and was able to get her an agent. Alida Vocal Studio was her home for her studies in Vancouver. Initially signed as a single-episode guest, her rapport with show's co-star Stephen Amell coupled with positive fan reaction as well as her sarcastic quips led to her first signing as a co-star on recurring basis for all of the remaining episodes of the season.
