Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin (born Winnipeg, raised in Wellington) is a Canadian actor from Canada. Born in Winnipeg and was raised in Wellington Paquin made her acting debut as Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at age 11 making her the second-youngest winner to win an award within Oscar history. In response to an open audition call to play the character, she got it as Flora McGrath, the daughter of a deaf Scottish pianist who relocates to New Zealand in mid-19th-century to get married. The actress was just nine and had no prior experience in acting. The actress moved into the United States as a teen. Paquin had the role of lead in Fly Away Home in 1996 as well as a brief appearance in the film as Jane Eyre in the film when she was still a toddler. Paquin was Frankie Addams in a 1997 TV movie adaptation of Carson McCullers's novel The Member of the Wedding and had a minor role as Queen of Spain in Steven Spielberg's Amistad (1997). The role she played was for teenagers in Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000), A Walk on the Moon (2000). In addition, she played the role of a teen girl named Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
